Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. increased by 199,000 in November, an increase of 49,000 over October’s gain. The unemployment rate was 3.7%, down 0.2% from October.
The labor force participation rate was little changed at 62.8%, and has been essentially flat since August.
