The frequency of unfilled positions remains widespread with plans to hire IT more dominant
CHICAGO, Illinois (June 2, 2016) — Brilliant™, an award-winning search, staffing and management resources firm specializing in accounting, finance and information technology, released its Q3 2016 Hiring Forecast today. The data indicates companies have strong hiring plans for the third quarter despite recent economic uncertainties.
The Brilliant Q3 2016 Accounting, Finance and IT Hiring Forecast, produced in partnership with Dr. Richard Curtin, Director, Surveys of Consumers at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, studies the hiring trends among proprietary entities in the greater Chicago and south Florida markets every quarter.
Data indicates the frequency of unfilled accounting, finance and IT positions remains widespread, reported by one-third of companies surveyed. Additionally, survey respondents report they have critical accounting and finance positions that need to be filled and their hiring plans remain shifted towards IT.
“While a strong pace of hiring reported last quarter has reduced the backlog of unfilled positions for the coming quarter, hiring managers and human resources professionals more frequently reported four or more unfilled positions than a year ago,” says Dr. Richard Curtin, Director, Surveys of Consumers at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich. “The survey indicates that businesses have kept up with growing needs for more accounting and finance professionals, while the demand for additional IT staff has grown faster than the rate they could locate and hire appropriate candidates.”

The study surveyed hiring managers and human resources professionals between April 19, 2016 and May 2, 2016.
