Jim Wong joins other Intersect Illinois leaders in Springfield, Illinois
Chicago, Illinois (Jan. 25, 2017) — Jim Wong, CPA (Inactive) CEO of Brilliant™, an award-winning search, staffing and management resources firm specializing in accounting, finance and information technology, and Intersect Illinois Board of Directors member, was invited by Governor Bruce Rauner (IL-Rep.) to be a guest in the gallery during his State of the State Address.
During his Address, Gov. Rauner recognized Wong for his leadership within Intersect Illinois (formerly known as the Illinois Business and Economic Development Corporation)—a nonpartisan entity created by Gov. Rauner to assist the Department of Commerce in executing economic development through a new approach, adjusting to the changing needs of businesses.
Gov. Rauner referred to Intersect Illinois as one of the administration’s recent successes.
“I continue to stay focused on the nonpartisan mission of Intersect Illinois to attract, retain and grow businesses and jobs in the state of Illinois while restoring its integrity, says Jim Wong, CPA (Inactive) CEO of Brilliant and Intersect Illinois Board of Directors member. “My 20+ years of experience in the staffing industry, and my history as a resident and business owner, give me a unique position to talk to the benefits of businesses moving and developing their operations within our state.” Wong continues, “That is why I am dedicating so much time and effort to this nonpartisan cause. I believe we can all work together to bring businesses to Illinois and restore the integrity of our state.”
Wong was recognized on the Staffing 100 List 2016 for North America as one of the most influential people in the staffing industry. He graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is an active member of the Illinois CPA Society and the NIU Department of Accountancy Board of Advisors. He is also a former board member of the Northern Illinois Executive Club.
Wong resides in Clarendon Hills, Ill. with his wife and family.
