CHICAGO, Illinois (September 29, 2016) — Brilliant™, an award-winning search, staffing and management resources firm specializing in accounting, finance and information technology, awarded two accountancy students from Northern Illinois University (NIU) a Brilliant Financial Search scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Michael Krueger and David Ribordy, both upper-level accountancy majors at NIU in DeKalb, Illinois, were selected as recipients of the annual scholarship award—receiving $2,000 each for this school year.

My sincere thank you to Brilliant for awarding me with this generous scholarship,” says Krueger.
Ribordy adds, “Being selected to receive the Brilliant Financial Search scholarship has provided me with more than just financial support. The scholarship has allowed me to focus more attention on schoolwork, as it reduces the stress that arises from the cost of education. Receiving the scholarship is also a recognition of my dedication to hard work and the potential I possess. I’m grateful for this opportunity and the commitment Brilliant is showing to my future success.”
The scholarships were presented on Aug. 31, 2016 at the Beta Alpha Psi/Accountancy Alumni Awards Banquet in the Holmes Student Center on NIU’s campus.
NIU alum and Brilliant CEO Jim Wong, CPA (Inactive) says, “It’s a privilege to award these individuals with resources to support their accountancy studies. 25 years ago, I received the same award from the NIU Accountancy Program. I’m happy to give back to the school who helped me by paying it forward to these deserving students.”
The scholarship recipients are selected by the NIU Accountancy Department Awards Committee and are based off of various academic criteria.
