This highly motivated and experienced Accounting and Finance Consultant/CPA with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting has extensive management experience in general accounting and financial planning & analysis at both the corporate and plant level. Expertise includes identifying key issues, defining corrective actions and driving resolutions to complex problems. Systems experience is extensive.
Additional qualifications include:
- Managed the general accounting, credit and collection, payroll and planning and analysis areas
- Worked with accounting team to improve monthly closing process from three weeks to four days saving many hours and speeding up the monthly reporting
- Provided financial support to operations including analysis, reporting, responding to ad hoc questions, budgeting/forecasting and financial consequences of actions
- Provided customer profitability and analysis for sales and marketing segments with over $900 million in sales
- Improved business unit profitability by developing a partnership with business unit management and advising them how their actions affected profitability and proposed alternative actions
- Led the development of building standard costs, conducting annual physical inventory and sales portion of the annual business plan
- Helped to implement SAP in one year (GL, fixed assets and A/P were all converted to SAP during the implementation)
- Compiled and filed Illinois Sales Tax Returns back three years to take advantage of Illinois Tax Amnesty program and moved the company into compliance with state law
- Managed and developed staff of 10
