CHICAGO, Illinois (December 5, 2023) —Brilliant®, an award-winning direct-hire, contract and consulting firm specializing in accounting, finance, audit, tax and technology, published multiple 2024 Salary Guides this week for various roles and markets.

The Brilliant 2024 Accounting and Finance Midwest Salary Guide includes base salary information for entry-level through c-suite positions within the Greater Chicago area across 12 categories including corporate accounting, corporate finance, financial systems, internal audit/SOX, tax, treasury, financial reporting, project management, accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll, credit & collections and billing. Salaries are expected to remain competitive throughout the accounting and finance functions next year yielding a moderate increase of 3.5% across most roles, and upwards of 8.5% for certain segments.

The Brilliant 2024 Accounting and Finance Southeast Salary Guide covers similar categories as the Midwest accounting and finance version with the baseline targeting the Fort Lauderdale/Miami market. Many of the roles, especially at the staff level, are expected to increase significantly from this year—in some cases 10% to 15% higher. The South Florida market continues to see a significant influx of new residents and businesses moving into the area from all parts of the U.S., and even Europe and Latin America. As a result, salaries are spiking to compete in attracting and retaining top-tier professionals.

The Brilliant 2024 Technology Salary Guide covers base salaries from entry-level through c-suite positions across 10 categories including database administration; QA and testing; internet and e-commerce; networking and telecommunications; security; software development; technical services, help desk and support; administration; applications development; and consulting and systems integration. As tech trends shift due to the evolving workforce and economy, the need for specialized technology experts changes. With the onslaught of AI tools and a largely remote workforce, technology salaries are expected to remain relatively flat. Brilliant expects an average of 1% to 3% increases in a multitude of technology roles with Chicago as the baseline.
