Background & Methodology

Brilliant® produces its series of Salary Guides on an annual basis outlining the expected salaries for accounting, finance and technology professionals in the coming year. The guides are produced by Brilliant's in-house marketing team, along with leadership. Three Salary Guides are available for 2023: 1) Accounting & Finance for the Midwest; 2) Accounting & Finance for the Southeast; 3) Technology.

The information is compiled using proprietary research, competitor analysis and company data to determine the projected figures. Additionally, the guides contain a forward by Brilliant CEO, Sheldon Schur, market statistics, information about Brilliant and its services, contact information, a calculator to determine other major U.S. markets, and more.

Brilliant considered company size, industry, experience level, certifications, demand of the role, proprietary research, market trends and competitive analysis and divided the salaries into three categories: low, mid and high ranges.

Salaries for other major U.S. cities outside of the Midwest and Southeast locations can be calculated with the information found in each guide's Appendix.
