Laurie is the Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications at Brilliant and oversees all marketing, communications and public relations for the firm. She has more than 15 years of marketing, communications and research experience. She joined Brilliant in 2014 and single-handedly started the marketing department. She was responsible for launching the brand’s social media platforms and was instrumental in building Brilliant’s digital footprint.
In 2016 and 2018, Laurie was named a Brilliant President’s Club recipient.
Before Brilliant, Laurie worked as a Marketing Director at LSAV, a live-event production company. Before that, she was a Marketing Manager in nonprofit health care at organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry and Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation (now called Northwestern Medical Group).
In 2012, she received the 2012 APEX Award for excellence in video production.
Laurie received her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University in 2001 on a full scholarship for dance. Laurie had small roles in major motion pictures including Soul Survivors, Just Visiting, Save the Last Dance and The Negotiator. She was also a freelance writer for a national publication, Dance Spirit, for many years. In 2004, she started her own publication, Chicago Dance Magazine where she served as the Editor in Chief and co-owner until 2006. Laurie is a published author, ghost writer and editor, and has contributed to many publications both locally and nationally.
In 2014, Laurie completed her master certification in social media marketing and leverages her role at Brilliant to impact the corporate world with her creative, analytical and digital marketing expertise.
