Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Database Administrator. This client is a leading supplier of high-impact decorative labels for the beverage, food, household products, nutraceutical, paint and coatings, personal care, private label/retail and spirits markets. They specialize in a variety of solutions to fit packaging needs. Their customers benefit from seamless migration across various label types and print technologies to best match their requirements. They have 14 operating divisions in North America. The Database Administrator is a 6 month contract to hire role located in Elk Grove Village, IL.

 

Database Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Implement data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
  • Resolve database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues.
  • Perform routine database loading, utilizing bulk loading techniques such as “Data Pump”, Import/Export, and table level partitioning for testing, backups and data replication.
  • Installation, maintenance, patching/upgrading and general administration of the following technologies on a Linux/Unix platform:

Oracle 10g/11g Enterprise Ed. database

Real Application Clusters (RAC)

Automatic Storage Management (ASM)

Physical standby databases using Oracle Data Guard

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008

Recovery Manager (RMAN) 10g/11g

  • Administer, tune, and ensure adequate capacity, uptime and performance for all installed Oracle Database and MS  SQL environments, including production, test and DR installation, maintenance, patching/upgrading, cloning and general administration of the following technologies on a Linux/Unix platform:    

Oracle E-Business Suite R12

Oracle Application Server 10g

Oracle Golden Gate  11g/12c

Oracle OBIEE 11g

 

Database Administrator Requirements:

  • 3 years of Oracle database administration experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least two to four years’ related experience and/or training with proven track record, OCP a plus.  
  • Previous experience installing and maintaining Oracle and SQL Server products
  • Provide administrative support for Oracle Application software.
  • Ability to understand and perform tasks using Oracle technical documents.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other associates and with Oracle technical support concerning Oracle product usage.
