Cost Accounting/Senior Accountant
Our consultant/MBA is a personable and experienced accounting professional with a heavy focus on cost accounting and analysis. Industry experience includes manufacturing, professional services, technology and others. Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, inventory roll-forwards and cash flow forecasting. Highlights include developing automated forecast tools and reports including dashboard reporting and has established and enhanced numerous cost processes and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Systems expertise includes 10 years SAP experience, advanced MS Excel, Hyperion, Cognos, SharePoint, Great Plains, Oracle, XBRL, Visio and MS Project.
Additional qualifications include:
- Set up the cost module within SAP for inventory analyses as the organization was centralizing the raw material storage from the various warehouses around the country; produced margin analyses for all product lines and resolved any pricing issues or discrepancies from the standard costing of each product
- Produced Finished Goods and Obsolete Inventory analyses as well as provided the financial support for the sales and production teams surrounding the life-cycle of each product enhancing the forecasting for in-transit, reserves as well as excess and obsolescent inventory
- Classified costs accurately for domestic and international plants. Analyzed costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors
- Improved processes such as accounting for scrap appropriately, tracking all items from stock room to finished product and ensuring the hours worked are recorded to the right charge lines to save costs
- Identified and tracked capital expenditures including leases, rentals for purchase and swapping of equipment. Ensured assets were coded correctly and created depreciation schedules
